Starting nutrition counseling does not have to be complicated. Your first visit is an opportunity to talk about your concerns, understand your nutrition needs, and determine what approach may work best for you.
1
Choose a convenient appointment time and complete the necessary intake information before your visit.
Consultations are available in person in Fremont, California or online.
2
Your first consultation is a conversation about you.
We may discuss:
Your health and nutrition concerns
Your current eating habits and typical meals
Food preferences and cultural food traditions
Lifestyle, schedule, and routines
Previous experiences with nutrition advice
Your goals and what you would like to change
You will have an opportunity to ask questions and share what has and has not worked for you in the past.
3
Together, we will identify the nutrition issues that are most relevant to your goals.
Dr. Kaur will explain nutrition information in clear, practical terms so that you understand what to do and why it matters.
4
Rather than giving you a generic diet plan, recommendations are developed around your individual needs, food preferences, lifestyle, and goals.
When appropriate, familiar foods and cultural eating patterns can be incorporated into your approach.
5
Nutrition changes take time. Follow-up counseling provides an opportunity to review what is working, address challenges, answer questions, and adjust your approach as your needs change.
You can continue with follow-up visits as needed based on your goals and circumstances.
For your first appointment, please have the following available:
A valid government-issued photo ID
(such as a driver's license or passport)
A list of current medications and supplements
Relevant recent laboratory results or medical information, if available
A general idea of what you typically eat and drink
Your nutrition questions and goals
For online appointments, you may be asked to show your photo ID during the visit for identity verification.
You do not need to have everything prepared perfectly. We will work through it together.
Nutrition counseling is not about perfection. It is about understanding your needs and finding practical ways to support your health.
